 Inundated with glow warmth and beauty, Morocco exudes so much glamour, be it the remarkable atlas mountains sprawled across the nation, the golden desert beaches or the luminesce Mediterranean waters with their captivating glimmer, the magnificent nation has bewildered all who have wandered. Morocco’s modernization has been at an accelerated rate promoting, its stance in Africa as a center for trade, this has ensured a wide blend of culture integrated with its ancient architecture and Berber heritage, the country presents a perfect fusion of sophisticated and antiquated unique cities with alluring scenery. Fez  (Morocco)

Fez or fest as it is sometimes called, is a city in northern inland Morocco. Fez is actually the second largest city in Morocco after Casablanca, with a population of 1.22 million as of 2020 statistics. Fez is one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco, in as much as it is an ancient city as it was founded long ago, one of the fascinating miracle attractions. Fez possesses everything you need out of a 1 200 year old city in Morocco. the city is well planned and the buildings reflect both the post-colonial era and the modern day architecture, it’s amongst the most exciting places in Morocco, where you’ll find a festive valley which happens to be the historic heart of this city with a deep and mysterious labyrinth of lanes and staircases set amidst colorful tanneries and cottages that will blow your mind. It also boasts of one of the oldest tanneries known as the 11th century Chouara Tannery renowned for producing leather for traders.

Marrakesh

I’m sure you would have heard of and it’s the most famous tourist city in Morocco, Marrakesh. I couldn’t do a top 12 without mentioning this city, but it is lower down I feel that most people would put it. Compared to a lot of places this city is full of tourists which has its positives and negatives. This city does have lots of stuff to do and is also a great transportation hub to get to other places such as the coast and the desert. Marrakesh is a great chance to see the amazing Moroccan architecture, I recommend visiting the Madrasa Ibn Youssef the level of detail is actually mind-blowing, make sure you walk around the main square Djemaa El Fna, make sure you shop especially at night when the place comes to life with street food everywhere and don’t be afraid to try it it’s cheap and really good.

Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen is the chief town of the province of the same name, situated in northern Morocco and especially noted through its building in shades of blue. Chefchaouen is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to Tangier and the Ceuta. There are around 210 hotels catering to the summer influx of European tourists. One distinction possessed by Chefchaouen is its blue rings and buildings. Chefchaouen is also a popular shopping destination as it offers many native handicrafts that are not available elsewhere in Morocco such as wool garments and woven blankets, added to that is the fact that the people here are very friendly, so you will surely get to enjoy some good hospitality here.

Agadir

Agadir was once devastated by the 1960 earthquake, has turned into one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco, from strolling in its beautiful streets basking under the sun on its beaches, to gorging the various foods, there’s a lot one can do during the trip to Agadir in Morocco. According to the 2020 census, Agadir had 421 844 inhabitants with two languages being spoken by the local population of the city Arabic and Berber. After much of it was destroyed in the earthquake Agadir been now a thriving seaside resort town with a beautiful waterfront and a chilled out vibe.

Essaouira

Essaouira is designated as a UNESCO heritage site. It is the Best place for couples in a romantic night. Being quite popular among the tourists the city still has a relaxed and laid-back vibe making it even more famous among the people who want a break from the loud and energetic city vibes. Essaouira is known for its artisan industry and cabin network, it is also a safe place to surf with no dangers of marine life or high tides. People only prefer to visit this place for oceanic views and laying down in sun. Top things to do in Essaouira are visiting the beaches it has walking through the Essaouira citadel and going horse riding or water surfing ,whatever you choose to do here will bring you so much fun and excitement, one can get to Essaouira  by bus or taxi.

meknes

Meknes is one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, located in northern central Morocco and the sixth largest city by population in the kingdom, do not be fooled by her lavishing and modern architecture as this is truly an ancient city dating back to the 11th century of the Almoravids. The city recorded a population of 632 079 in the 2020 Moroccan centres and is in an important economic pole in the region of fez Meknes. Top attractions in Meknes include Place el-Hedim, Madrasa Bou Inania, Bab Mansour al-‘Alj, Kasbah of Moulay Ismail, Meknes Medina and the imperial city. The two easiest ways to get to Meknes from Fez is either by bus with a company CTM or by train.

Casablanca

Casablanca may be the first place you visit in Morocco as its home to the international airport, it’s the largest city in Morocco and is the business powerhouse and industrial center that will probably give you the first taste of your trip to Morocco. Being a famous travel destination, Casablanca is rich in fascinating spots with a beautiful setting overlooking the Moroccan coastline while most of the buildings here are painted white. This place is the most western feeling city in the whole of Morocco you might find it easy to converse here with people, as many people here also speak English. You can also visit the old city to get a taste of Moroccan diverse traditions and cultures, Delicious food and exotic items to shop for.

Ouarzazete

Located on the south of the Atlas Mountains. Ouarzazete is the film city of Morocco, where several movies in the series have been shot like The Mummy and the Game of Thrones. This town is the gateway to the desert area of Morocco making it the best place to enjoy the sunset and sunrise. This caramel colored town covered under the pure blue African sky is among the favorite spots for tourists who are traveling from Marrakesh to the south of Morocco. While there are very few places to visit here. You can always enjoy the scenic beauty of this place and take some mesmerizing photographs for your Instagram stories.

Tangier

Tangier is a Moroccan port on the strait of Gibraltar, and it has been a strategic gateway between Africa and Europe since the Phoenician times. It’s a dual city of Morocco as most of the rural residents live here, also refer to the white city of Morocco. This place is the best mixture of cultures with styles as it contains some best historical events inside the beautiful white houses. Being in frequent contact with Europe, the people of tangier speak multiple languages like Arabic, English, Berber, French and even Spanish. The style of this white city is very welcoming the nature is so polite that you cannot resist going to this place if you’re having a vacation in Morocco.

Rabat

Being the country’s capital, Rabat is the most important city in Morocco, it has some of the most important sites in the whole of Morocco that you might not want to miss during your tour it has the royal palace and many other historical sites that will surely give you an experience of the importance of Africa and its culture. Rabat is unique from other countries capitals as it is settled on a seaside and its beach is away from all the hustle and bustle of the country where you can enjoy your evening drinks or a picnic with your family and friends. People here speak fluent English and French so you might not have to struggle in building up conversations with local people.

Kenitra

Formerly known as port laity, Kenitra is a port city in northwestern Morocco situated about 10 miles north of the bank of the Sebou River. The megacity is home to about 359 000 people. Kenitra is a center for shipping agrarian products including fruits, fish, lead, timber, and zinc ores. The megacity specializes in the production of citrus fruits meanwhile, it engages in beast product lamb and cattle. Kenitra has railways, roads connecting Marrakesh, Meknes, Larache and only the road to Casablanca.

Asilah 

Another iconic city in Morocco to visit for tourists is Asilah.

Asilah is one of the few fortified towns on the northwest tip of the Atlantic coast of Morocco, about 31 kilometers south of Tangier. While tourism dominates Asilah is set to offer a good introduction to Morocco. The city is known to host music and art festivals, including a mural painting festival. On your first day in Asilah you will already notice that many of the houses here feature Mashrabiya, also known as Oriel window. The main cultural center is the Santro Hassan do the Hong Kong international which hosts festivals in the summer. The cuisine in Asilah is described as delicious with notable daily cases, including paella and other seafood with both Moroccan and Valencian flavour influences. You can shop in some of its little socks or Oceano CASA Bepe into one of the restaurants for some great lunch.
